Why the jurisdiction matters more here than most places
Every city permits differently
Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup, University Place, Fife, Gig Harbor, Sumner, Bonney Lake, DuPont, Federal Way and unincorporated Pierce County all run their own right-of-way process with their own forms, fees and lead times. A permit from one is worth nothing in the next town. We deal with all of them weekly — see the permit guide.
Where it actually goes
Material from Tacoma jobs generally runs through the City's Recovery & Transfer Center; county work often routes to a Pierce County station and on to the LRI landfill at Graham. Clean concrete is crushed to aggregate and clean green waste is composted rather than buried, which is why separating pays. See where it goes.
HOAs and newer plats
The newer subdivisions on South Hill, in Bonney Lake and across DuPont's Northwest Landing carry real architectural control — day limits, driveway-only placement, and notification before work starts. Check before you book; it is a ten-minute call that saves a week.
Alleys, bluffs and gravel
Rear-alley drops on the older Tacoma grid, steep bluff streets above Old Town and Ruston Way, long gravel drives and septic fields out in Graham, and saturated ground from October to May. Our drivers know which of those a loaded truck can commit to and which need a smaller can or a staging spot.
Service Area FAQs
Do you charge extra to deliver outside Tacoma?
No. Every city and community listed on this page sits inside our standard service area and the flat rate is the same as it is in Tacoma. Delivery, pickup, your rental window and disposal up to the agreed tonnage are all in the number we quote you on the phone.
How far do you actually go?
Roughly a 25 mile radius from our yard, which covers Pierce County, the Puyallup valley, the Gig Harbor side of the Narrows and into south King County. We go further for multi-container jobs and contractor accounts. If your address is not on the list, call and ask — and if we cannot reach you we will usually know who can.
Can you deliver out to Graham or the rural county?
Yes, with a conversation first. Long gravel drives, septic tanks and drain fields, overhead limbs and soft saturated ground all affect which container we can get in and where it can safely sit. Mark the septic field before we arrive. Tell us the address when you call and we will tell you honestly what will and will not work.
Which parts of Tacoma do you cover?
All of it. Our yard is on Stewart Street in the Dome District, so downtown, the tideflats, Hilltop and the Eastside are minutes away, and the North End, Proctor, Stadium District, Old Town and Ruston are a short run north. Alley placement is common on the older grid and street placement needs a City right-of-way use permit, both of which we handle routinely.
