Junk Removal Dumpsters in Tacoma, WA
Roll-off containers for garage, basement and whole-house junk in Tacoma and Pierce County. Flat-rate pricing, protection boards under every drop, and same-day or next-day delivery from a crew that has worked this town since 2012.
Most junk jobs in Tacoma start the same way. Somebody opens the basement door on a Saturday, looks at forty years of boxes, and decides today is the day. Two hours later the driveway is full and the pickup is not going to cut it. That is the call we get, and we have been getting it since 2012.
The garages here are their own category. Kayaks and paddleboards nobody has touched in six seasons, ski and snowboard kit from the passes, crab pots, waders, three generations of bikes, and a wall of damp cardboard that went soft in a Craftsman crawlspace. Almost all of it goes in a container. We will tell you what does not before the truck leaves the yard.
From October through May the weather does half the deciding. An open box in Tacoma rain takes on water fast, and soaked carpet, cardboard and drywall get heavy enough to push a load past its weight allowance. We drop a tarp with every container and we ask you to use it. Flat-rate pricing only stays flat when the load stays dry — check the size guide before you book.
What Actually Comes Out of a Tacoma House
Basement and crawlspace
Deep and daylight basements under North Slope and Proctor bungalows hold decades of storage, and damp crawlspaces turn stored cardboard and fabric to mould long before anyone notices.
Detached garage clearouts
Old Tacoma garages sit off the alley and fill with gear, lumber offcuts, dead tools and paint cans. Paint belongs at PaintCare, tires go separately, and the rest rides in the box.
Tenant turnover
Landlords across Hilltop, Parkland and Lakewood call after a move-out. We can be there same day, and a next-day swap keeps a second unit moving without a second trip.
Electronics and appliances
TVs, monitors and computers go free through E-Cycle Washington, and fridges need the refrigerant pulled first. Everything else — printers, stereo gear, treadmills — is fair game.
Hoarding and heavy cleanouts
These need room and patience. We size up, stage the drop where your crew can reach it, and swap as often as the job needs rather than rushing the sort.
Furniture and mattresses
Couches, bed frames, mattresses and particleboard shelving take up volume without adding much weight, which is exactly the load a 20 yard box is built for.
Shed and deck debris
Rotten shed walls, mossy deck boards and old fencing come apart wet in this climate. Keep it separate from clean wood if you want to see it recycled.
Office and retail clearouts
Small commercial jobs off Pacific Avenue or in the Nalley Valley: desks, chairs, shelving, carpet tile. Ask about a commercial account if it repeats.
Choosing Between a 15 and a 20
Household junk is bulky and light, so volume decides the size, not weight. A 15 yard box handles a single garage, a packed spare room or a small basement and still sits low enough to load over the side. The 20 yard is our most requested residential size and the right call for a whole-floor clearout or anything with furniture in it. Once you are emptying a full house with a basement under it, a 30 yard saves you a swap. If the pile includes soil, sod, concrete or roofing, that material rides in a 10 yard on its own, no matter how small the pile looks.
15 Yard Dumpster
Single-room remodels, roof tear-offs to about 20 squares, garage cleanouts.

Every drop gets protection boards under the wheels and the rear rollers — not an upsell, just how we work. From October to May the ground here does not drain, and a loaded box on soft dirt or a gravel drive out toward Graham will rut it. Tell us what the approach looks like when you book: a steep bluff street off Ruston Way, an alley behind a North Slope bungalow, a low branch over the pad. Our driver needs roughly sixty feet of straight approach and clearance overhead. Sealcoat and pavers get extra plywood, and there is more on that in our note on driveway protection. If the spot will not work, we would rather know on the phone.

Junk Removal Dumpsters FAQs
What cannot go in the container?
No asbestos, no liquid paint, no automotive fluids, no propane tanks, no batteries and no tires. Paint has a free drop-off through PaintCare Washington, fluorescent tubes go through LightRecycle, and TVs, monitors and computers are free at E-Cycle Washington sites. Anything genuinely hazardous goes to the Tacoma household hazardous waste facility. If you are unsure about one item, call and describe it — we answer that question a dozen times a week.
How fast can you get a box here?
Order in the morning and there is a good chance it is in your driveway the same afternoon; otherwise next day covers most of Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup and University Place. Filling faster than expected? A next-day swap puts an empty box back on the same spot. Weekends and the first warm dry stretch of spring are the busiest times we see, so book ahead when you can.
Do I need a permit for the driveway?
Not if the container sits on your own driveway or private property, which covers most jobs. If it has to sit in the street or block a sidewalk, the City of Tacoma requires a right-of-way permit, and that takes a few days to come through. We will flag it when you describe the site. There is more detail in our Tacoma permit guide.
Should I really bother tarping it?
Yes, and it is not a small thing. A 20 yard box left open through a week of Tacoma rain can take on hundreds of gallons that soak straight into carpet, cardboard, drywall and upholstery. Water weight is what turns a load that was comfortably inside allowance into an overage. We leave a tarp with the container. Pull it over at the end of each day and your flat rate stays flat.
Can you load it for me?
We are a container company rather than a labor crew, so the loading is yours or your contractor's. What we do is make it easier: the box sits low, the rear door swings fully open so you can walk a mattress or a workbench straight in instead of lifting it over the wall, and we place the container exactly where you want it. Call the office and describe the site.
