Be honest about what you are throwing away before you order this one. The 40 is a volume container. Eight feet of wall and forty cubic yards of space is unbeatable for framing scrap, siding, cabinetry, packaging and whole-house contents — and it is the worst possible choice for concrete, tile or soil, because you will hit five to six tons with the box a quarter full. Volume, not weight, is what you are buying.

Why people choose the 40 yard
Commercial work is where the 40 lives. Tenant improvements, office strip-outs, retail fit-outs and warehouse clears generate enormous volume of light material: ceiling tile, metal stud, partition, shelving, carpet tile, cardboard and crating. New construction and large residential builds fill it on volume alone. Framing cutoffs, sheathing, housewrap, siding scrap, window and appliance packaging — none of it is heavy, all of it is enormous. For homeowners it comes down to two situations: a genuine whole-house cleanout where every room is going, or a large-scale structure demolition of light material. Outside of those, a 30 yard is usually the better and more economical call. We would rather talk you down a size than take an order you did not need — that is how this shop has run since 2012.

Will it fit?
This one demands the most room. The container is twenty-two feet by eight and stands eight feet tall, so allow thirty feet of level, firm surface with clear door swing at the rear. The truck needs its full sixty feet of straight approach, about ten feet of width, and roughly twenty-three feet of overhead clearance while the hoist works — the tall box makes low limbs, wires and eaves a genuine problem. Why not just order the biggest one to be safe?
Because weight, not volume, ends most loads. The 40 carries five to six tons and that ceiling arrives quickly with anything dense. Filling forty yards of space with heavy debris produces a load no truck can legally lift. If your debris is dense, the answer is a smaller container, not a larger one — the 10 yard is the heavy-material box.
Will it fit in a residential driveway?
Sometimes, and less often than people hope. Wider 1950s to 70s rambler drives in South Tacoma, Lakewood and Parkland can usually take one. Older North Slope, Proctor and Stadium District lots generally cannot, and the steep streets near Ruston Way are a firm no. Rural properties in Graham have the space but need a dry, firm gravel run and a marked septic field.
How do I load something eight feet tall?
Through the rear barn doors for anything heavy or awkward, over the side rail for everything else. Walk larger items in rather than lifting them over the wall. Fill front to back, break down boxes and cabinet carcasses so you are not throwing away air, and keep everything below the top rail — an overfilled container cannot legally travel.
Can I mix a little heavy material in?
A modest amount of mixed debris is fine and normal on a demolition job. What does not work is a layer of concrete, tile or dirt at the bottom of a forty yard box — that alone can consume the entire allowance. If your job produces both, we will set two containers: heavy material in a 10, everything else in the 40. Call and we will plan it.
How far ahead should I book?
